Description
AMC has introduced a range of rackmounted servers and industrial nodes that offer the OEM an opportunity
to add an enormous range of system management functions to the standard rack-server. The core of the Managed
Server Range is a series of modules that offer a wide range of communication and input/output functions
to enable the Original Equipment Manufacturer to bring products to market with the minimum of time and effort.
System Capabilities
Add Functionality: At the most elementary level, we can control the power to the host computer remotely, monitor the
remote computer even when power has failed and send messages to a Managed Server over the internet, even when the
remote server is not responding or is dead.
Flexible Monitoring: We can monitor the state of a wide range of digital and analogue sensors (e.g standard monitoring
points such as temperature, voltage, fans and rpm as well as instrumentation), log the information locally or transmit
to a remote host. Information can be transmitted over the Internet, PCI local bus, serial bus or by other means.
Log Maintenance Events: Data can be logged and maintenance information transmitted to a remote site for further
analysis. Emergency situations can be logged and critical situations transmitted over the Internet or GSM phone
for immediate action.
Control / Record Access: In certain industries it may be desirable to log access to a computer system even if the
system is powered-down and stored. As well as controlling the environment within the rackmount server chassis, our
managed servers can control the environment outside of the chassis, providing access control to cabinets, rooms etc.
It may be necessary to periodically communicate the status of a group of computers to a central node for monitoring
purposes. This can include identifying the location of the system via GPS, even when the system is powered off.
Add Intelligence: Alternatively, we provide intelligent I/O that can provide enhanced functionality to a system with
the minimum of application programming. Our system modules can be programmed to act as intelligent peripheral controllers
to control unusual peripheral devices. (Badge readers, biometric devices etc.)
Standard Protocol: A number of standard communications protocols are supported, with encryption to provide secure
communication where required.
